However, in February 2014 it was announced that the start of deliveries is expected only in the second quarter of 2015. In November, the start of deliveries was again postponed, this time to the third quarter of 2015.

Model 3 was originally named Model E and BlueStar, the current name was announced on July 15, 2014. The model was expected to be unveiled in March 2016.
